Porter Lite Assembly Guide: Lightweight Setup Made Easy

The Porter Lite is our most compact and agile barrow, perfect for anglers who prefer to travel light and move fast. Despite its minimal design, the Porter Lite is loaded with practical features — and assembling it is quick and simple. Follow this guide to get your barrow fully set up and ready for the bank.

Step 1: Wheel Assembly

Start by assembling the front wheel unit:

Fit a figure-of-eight pin onto one end of the axle.
Slide the first upright onto the axle with the thumbscrew facing outward.
Add a washer, then slide the wheel onto the axle.
Place another washer, followed by the second upright, again with the thumbscrew facing outward.
Secure the assembly by fitting the second figure-of-eight pin onto the end of the axle.

Step 2: Attaching the Wheel to the Frame

Lay the barrow frame upside down, with the front lugs pointing upward.
Carefully slide the assembled wheel unit down into the lugs.
Secure it using the thumbscrews on either side.

Check for correct fit: The wheel should spin freely without excessive side-to-side movement.
If the wheel feels tight or stiff, remove one washer and test again.

Step 3: Rear Leg Installation

With the frame still upside down:

Locate the two holes on each side of the frame — one for the locking pin, the other for the pivot bolt.
Pull out the locking pin and position the rear leg over the holes.
Release the locking pin so it clicks into place, holding the leg securely.

Now secure the leg with the pivot bolt:

Slide a washer up to the head of the M6 bolt.
Feed the bolt through the flange on the leg and the frame.
Add a second washer and thread on the nyloc nut.
Tighten using a posi-drive screwdriver and spanner until the thread bites into the nylon.

Do not overtighten — the leg needs to pivot freely.

Step 4: Handlebar and Front Bar Assembly

Turn the barrow over so it is now standing upright on its legs and front wheel.
Slide the handlebars into the rear of the frame and secure using the thumbscrews provided.
Insert the angle adapters into the front of the frame but leave the thumbscrews loose initially.
Slide the front bar into the uprights of the angle adapters.
Once everything is aligned and seated correctly, tighten all thumbscrews to secure the setup.

Final Steps: Fitting the Drop-In Bag

Thread the metal support frame into the Velcro flaps inside the drop-in bag.
Place the bag into the centre of the barrow frame.
Secure the rear of the bag using the clips provided on the bag itself.

Perform a final check to ensure:

All thumbscrews and nuts are tight
The tyre is inflated to 25psi
